You may be an educator and a Pinterest fan trying to bring the two worlds together. Though still in beta, Learnist may be the site for you.
T.H.E. Journal recently wrote Learnist's usability for educators is in the capability to "order materials on the boards, allowing teachers to show information from most to least important, or to create lessons with sequential steps."
Mindshift says "the site's 'learning boards' look quite a bit like Facebook's timeline feature and are a collision between DIY and education, and a professional development summer camp."
'Learnings' are the web pages one creates on the site containing posts of content about your topic from around the web. The content includes slideshare slides, ebooks, maps and videos, which makes it a bit more robust than Pinterest in that the content is on the Learnings page and students can view the information without having to follow links. Like Pinterest, you can share, like, and add your questions and comments.
