Here's what it looks like: So, for an example, let's say a particular program gives you the option of setting its font. You select a font on its font selection screen and hit OK. When you hit the OK button, *most* kinds of software will make an entry into the registry. Next time you run the program, it retrieves the information you set, in this case the font style. I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite A665D Laptop with a built in cam and speaker system (Windows 7). When I use Skype, my web camera no longer can be found, and doesn't work. Neither does my built-in mic. Contacted Toshiba help: They say to download the software (web Camera App) and boot it up again. This didn't help. What Am I Doing Wrong? If your laptop's webcam and built-in microphone were working previously for chatting with video programs like Skype, Ovoo, or Facebook video chat, but have since stopped functioning, the issue is likely caused by a simple software glitch that is easily resolved. The Toshiba Satellite A660 line of laptops includes a program installed by the manufacturer that lets you change webcam settings, such as brightness or contrast. This tool even gives you the option to disable the device completely, which prevents video programs from detecting your webcam. Fixing the problem is only a matter of accessing the software and turning the camera back on. While searching for information on the keyboard I own in a Google Search, the title of this site caught my eye and I clicked it. Two hours later I got back to my original task and knew I had found a site I had to share with you. Keybr is a touch typing test that will help you improve your typing speed and make fewer errors when your are typing. It is really easy to use too. When you arrive on the site it will be paused, just click the keyboard and then begin typing to start the test. It won't start till you've started typing. You can change the language of the keyboard to English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, and Russian. You can also change the layout of the keyboard to US, US – Dvorak, US – Colemak, and UK. To do so just click either Language/Layout above the keyboard. Beneath that you can click Tutorial to change the style of text you are typing. The goal is basically to type as quickly as you can without making errors. If you do make errors when you finish a section it will map them on the keyboard so that you can see if there are specific letters that you keep missing. Then you can focus on improving your typing of those letters. The hardest part of it for me is the nonsensical words that my brain tries to fix automatically. This is a challenging and fun typing test.
