| Howard from UK writes: I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. When I first installed it the aero snap feature worked, but now does not. Can you advise how to get it working again? Aero Snap, the feature which automatically expands windows when you drag them near the edges of the screen, can easily be enabled/disabled. Step 1.) Click on Start, then click Control Panel. Step 2.) In the search box in the upper right hand corner type: accessibility. This should bring up the options for Ease of Access Center. Click on View current accessibility settings. Step 3.) Click on Make it easier to focus on tasks, and then click Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen to disable aero snap. If you want to enable it, make sure the box is unchecked. Step 4.) Click Apply, then OK. That's it! Aero Snap is now enabled. The one right above the place where all the tabs open up? Well, mine has a fair number of favorite links I can click on, but I find that most of the time I end up opening all of them in a browsing session anyways. That's why the Open all in tabs option is so appealing to me. Just right-click in a blank area on your bookmarks bar and click Open all in tabs. Poof! All of you bookmarks bar links will open at once and you're good to go! Note: Google Chrome has a similar option (accessed the same way) called Open all bookmarks. However, with this rise in usage, the number of different types of mails we receive has increased too. There are various mails like newsletters, deals and offers, chat and Facebook notifications and what not. With so many different categories filling up our inbox, it's extremely crucial that we have a management strategy for our emails to prevent important ones from getting lost in the clutter. Using Gmail Filters to Categorize EmailsFilters are an amazing way to take control of your incoming mails in Gmail. With filters, you can sort mail into different folders as and when they arrive. This sorting is done automatically, and creating a filter is just a one-time process. Before we go ahead with the sorting, it is extremely important to formulate a strategy for dividing mails into categories. Let us consider a scenario: I am an active social media user and blogger – I read newsletters, and I am subscribed to deals for my city. Therefore, my probable labels are Social Media, Blog comments, Newsletters and Deals. Now that you have decided on your label names, it is time to create them. I am using the new look on Gmail, which has the feature of creating filters without going to the settings page at all. Step 1: Select some of the mails you want to filter into one label and select "Filter messages like these" from the drop-down menu. Step 2: Test a search with the filters as applied by you, and make sure no irrelevant results get through. Now, we are ready to create a filter using this search. Click on the link saying, "Create a filter with this search". Step 3: Now that we have a number of emails matching this search, we will decide what to do with them. If you already have a label suitable for these emails, then simply create the filter. Or else, click on "Choose a label" as shown. Step 4: If you click on choose a label, it will show you the following list. Click on "New label…" and a window will appear asking you to enter the name of the label. As you can see, I am naming my label DB Backup. Step 5: Select the checkbox beside the "Create a filter" button that says, "Also apply filter to (n) matching conversations". Click on "Create a filter" and we are done. When you search for information on the internet, the browser you use often determines which search provider is used. However, changing your search provider is really easy. Since you have Windows Vista, I am going to assume that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you use another browser like Firefox or Chrome, just respond in the comments to this article and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. You mentioned that you do a search in the address bar. Usually, the search bar is right next to the address bar, so I'll show you how to change the providers for both, just in case! Change Search Provider in the Search Bar Changing the provider here is really easy. 1) Locate the search bar at the top right of your screen. It is the empty fill-in-the blank bar located on the right in the picture below. 2) Click inside the box. A list of available search providers will display for you as shown in the picture below. 3) Simply click on the provider you want to use, in this case, Google. When you do, the icon at the left of the search bar will change to the one that you have chosen. That's it! This is by far the easiest way to change the search provider from the available options. However, to change the search to always use Google, complete the following steps. Change Search Provider in the Address Bar Changing the provider here requires a few more steps but can easily be done. 1) First access your browser. 2) At the top of the screen, look for the word Tools on the Menu bar. 3) On the Tools menu, choose Internet Options. The Internet Options window will appear. 4) On the Internet Options window, on the General tab, locate the Search section in the lower part of the screen. It is highlighted in a red box for you below. 5) In that section, notice the Settings button. Click on it. The Manage Add-Ons window will pop up. 6) On this screen to the left, click on the Search Providers link. The box to the right will list the currently installed search providers. -To change providers, simply click on the provider you want. Here is where you would click on "Google." -To make it your default provider, click on the Set as default button located at the bottom right of the screen. It is highlighted in yellow in the window above. When you change the default, notice that the word default is now next to the search provider you have indicated. -To choose a search provider not currently listed, click on the Find more search providers… located at the bottom left of the screen. It is in a red box in the screen above. 7) When you are finished, simply click the Close button. That's it, Tim! I remember being blown away when I brought you the visual cell size scale, but now I've discovered The Scale of the Universe 2! When you arrive at the site, you'll notice the instructions are right on the main page. You'll use the slide bar to zoom in an out, and then you can click on objects to learn more about them. Click the black start button to begin your exploration of the universe. The first thing I noticed was that there is nice background sound to the application, but if you are at work, you'll want to click the music notes in the top right corner to turn off the sound. Now while your navigating the universe, I noticed that I can also use my mouse wheel to zoom in and out. I found that was way easier than moving the slider bar. The other thing I noticed – probably because I love sparkle – is that when you get zoomed way out into the universe and are looking at nebulas – they sparkle! I found I wanted to click them and learn more about them. And when you zoom in to the universe past what you can see with the naked eye, the rays are animated. I like little touches like that because they're unexpected and make the interface more fun to use. I think you're ready to go explore the universe!
