Take an iPad Screenshot Okay, big day you've finally beaten Angry Birds, with three stars on all the levels, and you want to show off. So, what're you going to do? Carry your iPad around with you everywhere and never play the game again? No! You take a screenshot so you can post it and e-mail it to everyone! Here's how: First, make sure your iPad is on the screen you want to capture. Now click and hold the Home button button and press the top button on your iPad. You have to be pretty nimble, otherwise you might get sent back to the home screen or put your iPad to sleep. If done correctly, however, you'll hear a camera noise and the screen will flash. Now simply go into your Photos. You should see your screenshot, and from there you can share or e-mail it. Sweet! ~Andrew Click here to rate this tip | Printer friendly version

Dirk from IL asks: I heard someone talking about a program's "executable file". Does this file kill (execute) the program? Should I be worried about it? Ahh, save your worries for something good, Dirk, because this is nothing to fret over. The executable is basically the part of the program that "runs" when you click it (or its shortcut). In fact, the executable basically is the program, minus any support files. If you don't have an executable, you don't have a program; just a file. Since these executables are generally buried inside several layers of folders, we have shortcuts that point to them. When you click the shortcut, it tells Windows to activate the executable, and the program runs. It's a lot like magic, only no top hats or wands and nobody gets sawed in half.. How do you know what the executable is? It normally has the same icon the program does and ends with ".exe" (or ".com" for DOS nothing to do with web pages, a ".com" is a "command" file). Note that if you don't have your computer set to show file extensions, you won't see the .exe part. Since most programs stick shortcuts on your desktop and in your Start menu, Programs area, you usually don't need to worry about where your executable is. If you really feel the need to stop by and play with it, you can right-click any program shortcut and select Properties from the resulting menu. Then, click the "Open File Location" button on the screen that pops up to be taken straight to the folder where the executable is hanging out. Once you find it, give it a double click. ~Steve Click here to rate this tip | Printer friendly version Do you have a question for us? Ask it here!
Is it Time to Buy a New GPS? GPS (Global Positioning System) units are a fantastic addition to any car. They let you navigate from wherever you are to wherever you want to go with easy turn-by-turn directions. But you already know that right? You bought a GPS when it was new quite a few years ago and have been using it faithfully since to get around. So, is it time to get a new GPS? Do the new models do anything better then your old one? Read the article here! (Want these tips in their entirety? Sign up for Premium!) Disable Error Reporting in Vista and Windows 7 In XP, we were often annoyed by messages like this. Some of us, me included, still are. In Vista and Windows 7, we're now annoyed by this. Yes, Microsoft's error reports can be irritating. However, this feature benefits the larger Windows community by (hopefully) enhancing security and dependability through patches and updates designed to address the root causes of the reported problems. Check out the full explanation here! (Want these tips in their entirety? Sign up for Premium!) Harry from NYC writes: Can you help me with the password of my WI-FI router? The cable went out, and when all was said and done my router asked for a password that we never had! Because your router controls all the settings in your wireless network, (from parental controls to security options), a password is installed by the manufacturer to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the device. If you ever need to change any of these settings, you first need to know the proper password or access to the router will be blocked. Changing the router's password is handled by opening its settings menu through any computer connected to your network. Keep in mind that your router's menu screen may appear slightly different from the images below, as the menu layout for routers varies between manufacturers and even models. This site is devoted to exploring internet culture through scientific investigation. A few years ago I first heard the term meme; I was confused and perplexed because I had no idea what it meant. The best definition I can give you off the cuff is that it is viral internet phenomenon, like LOLcats. If you follow this link, you'll get a good explanation of what a Meme is, and how to pronounce it. It's Spring - Ready to Start Those Home Repairs? Whether You're a DIY Home Worker or a Full-Time Contractor... YOU CAN'T WORK WITH STRIPPED SCREWS! Two Pack - One for Stripped Flat Heads, One for Stripped Phillips Heads... WATCH THE VIDEO - THIS THING IS AMAZING!
You're Trying to Work... Key word "Trying." See, you have what should be a fairly simple project in front of you, but you can't even get started because the screws are stripped! You know what that means? It means you're screwed - pun absolutely intended. Maybe you're trying to replace a board that runs along the side of your home. Maybe you're trying to take apart a desk or chair to add reinforcements, or even just to screw it down tighter. So you stick the screwdriver in and...NOTHING. It just spins without catching on anything. The bit won't bite. The screw is stripped, and you're stuck in a dillemma. Don't panic! We've got something that'll make quick work of those stripped, damaged screws - check it out! There's no screw too stripped, no head too damaged...this can unscrew ANYTHING! See, the tips have a special shape to them that allows them to bite onto anything - even if it's so stripped that it just looks like a rivet. The heads on each of the two screw removers are made of a specially formulated, extra hardened steel that's simply stronger and more resistant than the metal that screws are made of. Couple this with an ergonomically designed handle that provides PLENTY of torquing power, and you've got yourself the PERFECT screw remover! Comes in a Two Pack - Flat AND Phillips Head! No matter what type of screw you have in front of you, you can rest assured that you can get it unscrewed. This package comes with a phillips head and a flat head, so no matter what type of stripped screw is in your way, you'll have it out in no time! And remember, these tips are specially designed and have gone through a hardening process that will NOT strip your driver while you're working stripped bits. It's the PERFECT TOOL! You Don't Have Many Options... You can dig it out, which will result in destroyed wood. I mean, if you dig enough to be able to pull that screw out (and good luck with that!), you're going to be left staring at a big, gaping hole! You can beat it out - but only IF you can get to the other side, which is generally not very likely. And even if you could, do you think forcefully pounding a screw out the opposite direction it went in is a good idea? Nope, this can and will split the wood! The bottom line is this: Without a proper damaged screw remover, your work will be at a stand-still! This Thing Flat out WORKS - Check The Video Out Now! Watch Tim as he works some magic! Just to prove to you how well these things work, we went ahead and straight DESTROYED a screw. Then Tim came in with the Remover and blew us away! Amazing Tool - Outstanding Price!
