David from OH asks: I hate it when I visit a web site and it has dark text on a dark background. Is there an easy way to make these kinds of sites readable? We've all seen examples of this before, I'm sure. Whether by way of poor web design or just a background image that didn't load correctly, dark text on a dark background is simply impossible to read! Well, next time you find yourself in this position simply hit, CTRL-A. All the text on the website will be selected (highlighted). The selection color is normally blue with white text. Much easier to read than, say, a dark red on a black background. This works with some email programs too. Jim from MD writes: Sometimes when I boot up it goes to my desktop and approximately 1-2 minutes later, a blue screen comes up, dumping data. I wish to copy this screen because it goes too fast to read. How do I copy the message on this screen, to paste it somewhere else? Great question Jim! Windows automatically reboots after a blue screen of death and writes a log entry in the event log, but if you want Windows to stay at the blue screen until you manually restart the computer here is what you need to do: Right Click on My Computer (Or Computer for Windows 7 Users) and click Properties. Now Click Advanced System Settings and select the Tab that says Advanced. After that, click "settings" under Startup and Recovery and un-check the box that says "Automatically restart" so no check-mark is in the box. Now click OK and restart your computer. I almost don't know where to tell you to start on this site, because there are so many wonderful things to check out. So I think I'll start you out with what I found the most exciting: the Mangia Italiano Spring 2010 Recipe Contest. Just scroll down the page and check out the details in the featured section on the main page, or you can click Contest 2010 button on the side menu. You'll find all the official rules and such there, as well as the submission form. If you glance at the side menu, you'll see that there are a ton of different recipe categories. They are: Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Bread, Vegetable, Pasta, Poultry, Beef, Pork, Veal, Lamb, Seafood, and Pizza. What I like about that is that you can easily pick what type of food you want to make and not have to weed through other distracting recipes that look like something you'd want to make. Ok, I might have a problem at recipe sites and get distracted by other delicious delights. After browsing the recipe sections you'll find sections on Italian Ingredients: cheese, wine, coffees, desserts, and more. Another section I really liked was the Cooking for Kids section where you will find great recipes that you can get your kids involved in helping you make, as well as, great tips on how to get your kids to eat a better variety of foods and what they can do in the kitchen.
